Spiders are one of the beings who have specialized in the sensory organs receive stimuli. He has a sensitive early warning system in which the body is covered with hairs that are very sensitive to vibration. Furthermore, the behavior of spiders shows that they receive information sent through via their webs of vibration trapped prey. This research generally aims to determine the effect of different Young’s modulus of the rapid propagation of stimuli in spider webs.
From this study found that the higher the frequency given to the artificial spider thread the lower frequencies that occur in spider thread itself. Spider thread not indicate the frequency of the vibrating after being given artificial frequencies over 1000 Hz. Thread peak amplitude occurs when a given frequency range between 50-200 Hz. From the study of literature, all prey spider produces vibration frequencies tend to be below 1000 Hz. External perturbation that frequency of over 1000 Hz will be ignored spider because the vibration is not channeled by a thread. Furthermore, the graph has a young modulus to comparison with fast vibration graphics of the spider thread. This means the value of the propagation of vibrations in spider thread is proportional to the young modulus of each thread
